Official Synopsis for Kill Your Darlings

titch85:

“Kill Your Darlings,” tells the true story of murder that brought together a young Allen Ginsberg (Daniel Radcliffe), Jack Kerouac (Jack Huston) and William Burroughs (Ben Foster), providing the spark that would lead to their Beat revolution.  Imagine a younger, rebellious “Capote.”

Allen, an awkward freshman at Columbia University befriends Lucien Carr (Dane DeHaan), a charismatic and brilliant sophomore who takes Allen under his wing and introduces him to his misfit friends, Kerouac and Burroughs.  Soon the four are ditching class for smoky jazz clubs and Lucien convinces Allen to lead their new artistic movement: a revolution he believes will change truth and art forever.

However, Lucien is hiding his own truth - a volatile relationship with older academic David Kammerer (Michael C. Hall) that ends one drunken night with Lucien stabbing David to death and dumping his body in the Hudson River.   The crime becomes a national obsession and Lucien is quickly locked up in prison where he begs Allen to write his defense.

Allen’s journey through Lucien’s past to discover a secret history between Lucien and David is shocking enough to implicate Lucien as a cold-blooded killer.  At a crossroads, Allen chooses to write the true version of the murder, but does not hand it in to the D.A.’s office.  Instead, he hands it in as his final exam to Columbia University. Although the story gets Allen expelled from college, it gives him the strength to become a writer and inspire Kerouac and Burroughs to start their revolution together.

The rest is history.

The Artist (2011)

Such a lovely film.  And such lovely faces.

30 Jan about to watch this again.
It’s my favorite movie.  I have only seen it once.  But it impacted me so much that it’s my favorite.  I found it at Barnes and Noble the other day and freaked out.
It’s amazing.  Check it out.
